PRIDE PARADE ROUTE

By Dig Staff

FDR_1123FormaggioLG

This Saturday, June 13th, the South End and Back Bay will once again host the Pride Parade [bostonpride.org] as part of Boston's LGBT Pride Week festivities. Launching at the corner of Tremont and Clarendon streets at noon, it'll continue through the Back Bay, bisecting the Commons, finally winding past the State House and ending at City Hall.

These being some of the most commercially dense areas in town, there's no end to the options you'll have along the way to nosh, imbibe and party, before and after the main festivities. If we can be so bold as to suggest starting your day by stocking up on gourmet goodies at South End Formaggio [268 Shawmut Ave. 617.350.6996. southendformaggio.com] before finding your watching spot. (Tip: There's always cheese there to sample.) As for the social scene, bars all over town will be hopping, but right on the parade route, there's a couple of excellent options. The Club Café [209 Columbus Ave. 617.536.0966 clubcafe.com] opens for brunch at 11am, and the Chandler Inn [26 Chandler St., Boston. 617.482.3450 chandlerinn.com] offers not only lodging but one of the hottest scenes in town. If you find yourself at the end of the route, the Alley Bar [14 Pi Alley. 617.263.1449. thealleybar.com] is opening at 2pm for all your bear-hunting needs.
