Remember that kid from Almost Famous? Whatever happened to that kid? He's back in the limelight as the hapless hero in this indier-than-thou dark comedy from Croatian director Goran Dukic. When Zia (aforementioned Almost Famous kid Patrick Fugit) offs himself, he wakes up in a limbo reserved for suicide victims. Cue ... road trip? With Tom Waits? Holy emo haircut, Batman! Wristcutters could either be the best doom-on-the-open-road comedy since Thelma & Louise, or an insufferable display of po-mo pud-pulling. Either way, bring along the Prozac.

“One of the most heart breaking things for me is the great number of homeless veterans,” said Ralph Cooper, executive director of Veterans Benefits Clearinghouse. “As you can tell, I’m getting older and my gray hair tells the truth. You can’t imagine how painful it is for me to talk with men and women who served in Vietnam, men and women who are young, coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq and they are homeless. How disgraceful is that?”
