Now simply known as CSS, this Brazilian megalith has been on my radar since I stumbled upon their Trama-label debut many moons ago, and my-oh-my have they come far: transforming from a smarmy, sex-obsessed bunch of rabble-rousers to a full-on arena rock steamroller. Working mainly alone, Adriano Cintra brings a cadre of excellent artists / lyricists at his back, which seems to allow him the confidence to write some powerful melodies. It doesn't hurt that they're mainly very sexy Brazilian ladies ("cansei de ser sexy" means "tired of being sexy"). Their self-titled debut leaned heavily on Baile rhythms and catchy Portuguese phrasing, but Donkey is all "em inglês," right down to the liner notes. After years of playing to larger and larger crowds, Cintra and friends are thinking they might eventually get to Wembley. At this rate, it's not out of the realm.

Health and Human Services Public Hearing

“One of the most heart breaking things for me is the great number of homeless veterans,” said Ralph Cooper, executive director of Veterans Benefits Clearinghouse. “As you can tell, I’m getting older and my gray hair tells the truth. You can’t imagine how painful it is for me to talk with men and women who served in Vietnam, men and women who are young, coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq and they are homeless. How disgraceful is that?”
