DESTROY BABYLON | THE SHADOW ARMY

When it comes to white guys interpreting dub, the gold standard is The Clash. And while these five chaps ain't Strummer & Co., the political upshot is very much there, with songs like "Barriers" and an album thematically attacking the "Shadow Army." They also love them some Hohner melodica. musicadd.com

SUN LEE SUNBEAM | LOOK FOR THE LIGHT

Fronted by the charismatic Jessica Sun Lee, there's a lot of talk about SLS, and with good reason. On the pop-rock tip, the trio is headed directly for the mainstream. All they need is a genius producer and a couple more high-profile gigs. Oh lookie, they're at The Pill at Great Scott (again) this Friday. myspace.com/thesunleesunbeam

Health and Human Services Public Hearing

“One of the most heart breaking things for me is the great number of homeless veterans,” said Ralph Cooper, executive director of Veterans Benefits Clearinghouse. “As you can tell, I’m getting older and my gray hair tells the truth. You can’t imagine how painful it is for me to talk with men and women who served in Vietnam, men and women who are young, coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq and they are homeless. How disgraceful is that?”
