DETAILS: Hunger for food, sex, acceptance, fame…and for true nourishment! Cabaret singer Belle Linda Halpern takes you on a funny, intriguing and profound look at our constant cravings, with songs that range from Tin Pan Alley classics by Gershwin, Berlin and Bernstein to pop anthems and Yiddish showstoppers. Created and performed by Belle Linda Halpern. Musical Director and Accompanist Ron Roy. Directed by Sabrina Hamilton. A Ko Theater Works Production.

WHO: Community Servings provides free home-delivered meals to individuals in 16 cities and towns throughout Eastern Massachusetts who are homebound and unable to shop or cook for themselves because of critical illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, and diabetes. It costs just $5 a day to provide lunch, dinner and snack to each of our 725 clients, their dependent families, and their caregivers. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity, preserve the integrity of their families, provide nutritionally and culturally appropriate meals, and send the message that someone cares. LifeSavor - Boston’s Best Dinner Party with a Conscience

Guests will kick off “Boston’s Best Dinner Party with a Conscience” (Boston Magazine) at 5:30pm with a cocktail reception at The Langham, Boston. Guests will dine on sumptuous appetizers, enjoy complimentary martinis and bid on fabulous auction items such as: a master chef class with Frank McClelland, chef-owner of L'Espalier; a private wine-tasting for 20 people at Upstairs on the Square with their sommelier; a opportunity to co-host NECN’s “TV Diner” with Billy Costa; and a 5-night stay at The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, CA.

 

Following the reception, parties of ten will travel to 80 of Boston’s most exclusive restaurants, including Clio, Rialto, Lumiere, L’Espalier, Sorellina, UpStairs on the Square, Radius, and Top of the Hub. Each restaurant donates a multi-course meal with wines, highlighting the chef’s skills and creativity. Guests will then be returned to The Langham, Boston to finish the evening with delicious offerings from the hotel’s famed Chocolate Bar at the After Party.

Like a cool kid, I slept through my alarm back in Boston yesterday morning, scrambled to finish packing before my last minute cab showed up, and then forked over $40 for said cab to drag my sleepy ass to Logan for my flight to SXSW.
