Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!

By Media Farm on Thu, Aug 30, 2007 12:14 pm

From the Department of Anal Newspaper Reading comes this question: How would you spot a Globe reporter who's never cribbed a story from Indymedia? Likely, you'd be on the lookout for a sentence like this: "'This is nothing more than psychological warfare, said Sergio Reyes, director of the Boston Mayday Coalition."

Now, as any good anarcho-commie-socialist-whatever knows, May Day is an occasion for gathering 'round the red flag and banging drums and shouting down the corporate monster and fellating Hugo Chavez; Mayday is what you scream when Nick Nolte charges into the cabin of your Cessna and grabs the controls. We're guessing that, given the "Remember Sacco and Vanzetti" banner up on their website, Reyes's group falls into the former category, not the latter.

This is obviously much less egregious than yesterday's whopper about the "Metro Boston Transit Authority," but still, isn't it something a trip to the Google could fix?

Surfer Blood & Turbo Fruits

By ioncrash on Mon, Mar 8, 2010 5:26 pm None-too-shockingly, Jonas Stein of Turbo Fruits (formerly of Be YourOwn Pet) turns out to be a pretty chill guy. After all, the dude’s written more songs about weed than I care to list right now.
